Located on the eastern side of Whitmore Square, the centre’s aim is to help up to 47 men with their immediate needs and also support them towards sustainable independent living, in a caring, supportive and respectful way.
St Vinnie’s Men’s Shelter is located at 28 Whitmore Square, Adelaide SA 5000 and can be reached by calling (08) 8231 2250.
The Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre provides accommodation in single, double or three person rooms, nutritional meals, showers, an introduction to case management and specialised assistance all provided in a safe welcoming environment.
The Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre has partnerships with many service providers and agencies to help the process of linking people with the right service at the right time. Men may decide to access the support of the Centre after leaving a facility or hospital, in a time of crisis or after living without accommodation for a period of time. Informal agreements are in place with the Frederic Ozanam Housing Association and the Hutt Street Centre
The Centre is examining ways to provide services that improve the quality of living and result in sustainable outcomes. These strategies include tackling daily living matters, building resilience and providing services that in the long term generate better outcomes for Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre guests.
